 TREND: BARRIER-FREE SHOWERS

Your bathroom has the charm of the 70´s and you would like to redesign it into a modern and barrier-free walk-in shower with trouble-free access?

There are a lot of bathrooms with high shower trays of up to 20 cm in height which can constitute a major obstacle for many people – not just for elders and people with handicaps, even young families with design claims prefer the accessible bathroom design.

Everybody who wants to build up a new house or renovate an old building today, often require a barrier-free bathroom with a walk in handicap shower area.

While this is pretty easy to implement in a new building, there could be some obstacles when a bathroom in an old building should be modernized. Especially in old buildings the floor installation heights are often very low. So without enough impounding depth the shower water cannot drain. The slope is not sufficient enough to transport the sewage to the next downpipe.

THE ISSUE WITH OLD BUILDINGS

The easy exchange of the old shower tray for a conventional flat shower drain is usually impossible due to the floor foundation. In case of removal of the old floor screed and insulation, the incidental shower water must flow against the flow direction to reach the available gravity downpipe. A physical limitation that cannot be ignored.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS IMPOSSIBLE - THANKS TO PLANCOFIX

The floor drainage pump PLANCOFIX is able to solve this problem. The PLANCOFIX can be installed everywhere where the installation was not possible before, due to the missing gravity flow. That´s how the dream of a walk-in shower in the case of a bath renovation can become true.

Installed in your bathroom floor, hidden and with quiet operation, the PLANCOFIX pumps your shower water to the wastewater pipe. Quite simple and exactly as you imagined.

THE PROBLEM SOLVER – PLANCOFIX

AND THIS IS HOW THE PLANCOFIX WORKS?

Embedded in the floor screed of the bathroom the PLANCOFIX could be the the drain in a tiled shower. The shower water will flow into the PLANCOFIX, a combination of drain and pump.

The powerful and quiet operational pump is initiated by a float switch and transports wastewater out of the shower even in the remotest corners of the building directly to the next downpipe. It pumps a water volume of up to 30 liters per minute and is suitable for showers with a high flow volume.

The pump housing can easily be cleaned from usual impurities like hair, fluff and sand. The pump hydraulic can be easily removed from above and then be rinsed with clear water.

IT´S YOUR CHOICE

Wherever and however you wish to install your PLANCOFIX. You have a whole range of options to choose from.

| IN THE SHOWER CABIN

In this case, the water outlet is somewhat hidden and not immediately visible from elsewhere in the bathroom.

| NEXT TO THE SHOWER CABIN

If you prefer not to stand with your feet on the drain during showering, then simply choose an installation location outside the shower cabin.

| COMPLETLY TILED

You can integrate the PLANCOFIX almost invisibly into the design of your modern bathroom. Your shower water then disappears through narrow, inconspicuous groove that runs around one of the tiles.

| WITH STAINLESS-STEEL DRAIN COVER

The tile with the drainage groove can also be replaced with a stainless-steel drain cover, available as an accessory. To suit your taste.

THE WAY TO A NEW SHOWER

construction floor level shower
BREAK OUT THE BARRIERS IN FOUR STEPS:

The journey to your new barrier-free shower takes exactly four steps.
Go ahead.

Step 1

The old shower including the tiles is removed.

Step 2

The installation depression is milled in the floor.

Step 3

The flat PLANCOFIX unit is placed into the depression, joined to the nearest waste- water pipe and connected to the electricity supply. The highest safety standards are ensured thanks to VDE approval. The floor screed and sealant are installed.

Step 4

Now, only the tiles need to be laid. The thickness of the tiles is almost immaterial with the PLANCOFIX - since the collar adapts flexibly to the tiles.
